Sr Arlene Te receives 30th Year of Medical Offering Award in Taiwan

November 7, 2020

Sister Arlene Te, SDSH and M.D., received the award from the National Medical Association of the R.O.C.

She was nominated by Cardinal Tien Catholic Hospital (Taipei) for the Taiwan Medical Contribution Award. This national acknowledgment was given for Sister Arlene’s outstanding medical services in promotion of life; reaching out to the sick especially in remote and aboriginal areas; for her tireless effort for public welfare as a Family Medicine specialist.

The following day the New Taipei City Medical Association also honored Sister Arlene for her 30 years of service in the City of Taipei.

Sister Arlene received the awards “with deep gratitude, humbled by the trust and appreciation” of her colleagues. She thanked our Community, particularly Sister Ida and Sister Jane, who directed her to the field of Family Medicine.  She also expressed her gratitude for Sister Mary Ann (who herself received a similar award 13 years ago) for her mentorship and encouraging her expansion of the Natural Procreation Technology Program to Taiwan and which Sister Arlene has promoted internationally.

Congratulations, dear Sister Arlene, for being God’s healing hand and compassionate heart to the sick and the poor, always relying on the Heart of Jesus in the care of others!
