Family is a gift of God. Sister Ida often reminded us that our Community’s greatest benefactors are our parents and they deserve our deepest gratitude for their support and encouragement of their daughter’s vocation.
“We generously share the spiritual gifts of our society with our own families and the families of all our Sisters. We pray continuously that through our lives dedicated to the Heart of Our Lord our families too, might be blessed a hundredfold.” SDSH Constitutions
Our families are remembered daily in thankful prayer; they share in the grace of our religious lives. They can take part in occasions and events: profession of vows and jubilee celebrations; work side by side with their daughters on work weekends at the Sacred Heart Retreat Camp and other Community works; family visiting days, etc.
We know that vocations just like beautiful flowers do not grow by accident. They need rich soil, tender loving care, lots of warm sunshine and watering. You dear fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, relatives and friends are instrumental in God’s plan. I thank you for the constant love, care, and the support you have given to our Sisters.
