Jesus Christ chose to live chastity, poverty, and obedience,

His Way is known as the “evangelical counsels”.

In our consecrated religious vocation, we follow Jesus by embracing these evangelical counsels by professing vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. “The Consecrated Life, deeply rooted in the example and teaching of Christ the Lord, is a gift of God the Father to his Church through the Holy Spirit. By the profession of the evangelical counsels the characteristic features of Jesus — the chaste, poor and obedient one — are made constantly “visible” in the midst of the world and the eyes of the faithful are directed towards the mystery of the Kingdom of God already at work in history, even as it awaits its full realization in heaven.” (Vita Consecrata, 1)

Chastity: Our Lord Jesus Christ called us to be united with Him in undivided love. Consecrated Chastity frees us to extend His kingdom…living our lives in union with Him, and proclaiming the love of the Divine Heart of Our Savior. Called to devote ourselves to God alone, with undivided love. “Chastity is not a thing at all. It is accepting the call of a Divine Person who promises love and companionship and who can keep His promise in a way nobody else can.”

Poverty: Jesus Christ is our greatest reward in this life and in eternity. We need to be free in our hearts from everything that does not contribute to the building of the kingdom of God. This call for genuine mortification, not allowing likes and dislikes to rule our lives.

Obedience: United to Jesus in heart and mind, and prompted by His Holy Spirit…we share in Our Lord’s relationship with the Father and in His mission of salvation. We treasure obedience in community as a life-long opportunity to give ourselves to the Father as Our Lord did.
