Sacred Heart Novena Day 4

Pray with us Day 4 of the Sacred Heart Novena in preparation for the Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
We are fully human when we relate to the Father as His child, through Jesus our Lord. When we pray, we are truly invited to share in the prayer of Jesus, to share in His love and friendship with the Father. Just think of the Eucharistic Prayer and the way the Church prays. How many times we hear: “…And we ask you this through Christ our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit.” The Church knows it, but it is such a well-kept secret that this is the best possible way to pray, i.e., through Jesus Our Lord, because He is the one who sees God face to face. This is our life: to contemplate God’s face.
To pray is to become sons with the Son; it is union with Jesus. The Father hears us; the Father loves us, as He loves Jesus. And He sends us, as He sent Jesus, to His brothers and sisters.
St. Ignatius says (and it is so much in harmony with tomorrow’s feast of the Body and Blood of our Lord), “You really become what you eat”. You are one with Jesus. Why look for Him outside, as though He were an outsider? He is in the depths of your being.
I like to pray after Communion, speaking to the Father: “United to your Son, to our Lord Jesus, I love You with His heart, and I praise You with His Spirit.”
Your prayer changes when you realize that Jesus lives in you, Galatians 2:20
It can radically transform us, Romans 6:5
(Servant of God Sister Ida Peterfy – June 4, 1994)
Galatians 2:20
I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me.
Romans 6:5
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Heart of Jesus, in whom dwells the fullness of the divinity, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, in whom the Father was well pleased, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, of whose fullness we have all received, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, our life and resurrection, have mercy on us.
