Sacred Heart Novena in preparation for
Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart
Tomorrow is the First Friday, of the month of the Sacred Heart of Our Lord. Our Lord wants to be with us as the risen Lord, the way He is right now at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us, being very happy and very grateful that we are continuing the work He left to His disciples.
The joy which we talked about as emanating from God, is totally true about the risen Lord. Whatever you do, pray with your heart, not just during the formal times of prayer. Rest in the presence of the Lord; work in the presence of the Lord. Do not leave Him behind. Ask Him to go with you wherever you go and to take part in whatever you do. This is a wonderful custom to carry into our ordinary day. Enter into the presence of the Lord in the depths of our being.
The Prologue of St. John (John 1:1-18). This is a perfect introduction to savoring who the risen Lord really is. He is the beginning and the end. Savor who He really is. See Him, contemplate Him, touch Him, in faith. Meeting Him, we share the Easter joy of the disciples, and the love and joy which is so characteristic of the life of God.

John 1:1-5, 10-14, 16
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came to be through him,
and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be through him was life,
and this life was the light of the human race;
the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.He was in the world,
and the world came to be through him,
but the world did not know him.
He came to what was his own,
but his own people did not accept him.But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision but of God.
And the Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth. From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
Heart of Jesus, Son of the Eternal Father, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, formed by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin Mother, have mercy on us.
Heart of Jesus, substantially united to the Word of God, have mercy on us.
